The Recipe
Turns out the bloggers here are also pretty good at eating and liked the Stewdog's BBQ Tri Tip Roast, served at the Top Dog's Birthday Party.
It is easy. The trick is the Marinade. For a 1 and 1/2 pound Tri Tip, marinate early in the day (or even overnight) with 3/4 cup of red wine, 1/4 cup oil, 1 small chopped onion, 1 tablespoon crumbled oregeno, and 1 teaspoon of salt. When you are ready to cook, remove, and pat dry with paper towels. BBQ, preferably in a Weber Kettle. Hickory chips add a nice touch.
Credit goes to Marion Cunningham and the Fannie Farmer Cookbook for this idea, origionally recommended for London Broil.
