Then there are days when you wonder if you're somehow conveying the wrong message . . .
My daughters are sitting on the floor playing with Barbie and Princess dolls. Their voices are sweet; their soft, cheerful chatter is pleasant, almost lulling.
My six year old takes five of her dolls and begins to tell her little sister a story about five princesses named Anneliese, Erica, Alice, Odette, and Rapunzel who live in a castle with their mommy, Queen Stephanie, and their daddy, King Jones. "The King and Queen were very poor," explains my young storyteller, "but the five princesses had lots and lots of money."

It's the price you pay for reading to them. Nothing wrong with those two that a couple of tattoos and some piercings won't cure.
