Checking in with two of my favorite people in the blogosphere

Jeff at Quid Nomen Illius tells a great story about his recent attendance at the 25th National Veteran's Wheelchair Games. Where's Frank Capra when you need him?

And let's break out the bongo drums and snap our fingers for Rose Nunez, a poet for our time.

Thanks! I don't think I've ever been anyone's favorite person before, not even to any of my girlfriends. Maybe to my mom. Maybe. Depends on how the cat has been treating her lately.

I wish I could post more stories from the games, but I'd be wrongly exploiting other people's moments; also, the many athletes, officials, and family members I talked to all had a reasonable expectation of privacy when they told me stuff. That said, I'm going to sift through my memories and see if I can't at least whip up another post that discusses the games in general terms, because let me tell you: they are astonishing.

Oh, come on, Jeff -- I'm sure you beat out the cat most days!

I'd love to see another post on the games, Jeff. Sounds like a great experience.

You mean Wonderdog and Stewdog aren't your two favorite people in the blogosphere? HMMM. We'll remember that when year end bonuses are handed out at Rumpus.
