Blogging cheek to cheek

When my family gets together with my parents, sisters and brothers, nephews, and aunts and uncles, we sometimes amuse ourselves by making lists. Someone will say, "Who are the five greatest American male vocalists?" Everyone will make his or her own list, and then we average out the scores to come up with our family version of the A.F.I. lists. Yes, it's kind of weird, but it's harmless and it amuses us. When my sister Daryl Ann and I made our list of top five male vocalists, we both included Fred Astaire (though he was higher on her list than on mine). We were roundly ridiculed by some others who will remain nameless.

Well, they all laughed at Chritopher Columbus, baby.

And just because I love Fred Astaire, here's another lovely tribute to his extraordinary talent.
