Leftist teacher rants in high school geography class . . .
Student tapes class session. More here from Michelle Malkin. David Bernstein at Volokh Conspiracy discusses the incident and its constitutional implications.
I haven't had the stomach to actually listen to the rant, but I did read Michelle Malkin's full transcript of the tape. It's, um, instructive in a way I'm sure poor martyred Mr. Bennish never intended.
I also read a Rocky Mountain News article about the incident. My favorite tidbit from the article: "'It's not fair,' said Stacy Caruso, a 17-year-old junior. 'He spoke his mind. We have Christian groups in school, and they're not censored.'"
Oh, so *that's* why we send you kids to school -- so that you can listen to your teachers "speak their minds" . . . and so that you can gain the much vaunted "critical thinking" skills exhibited so brilliantly by Ms. Caruso. She talks as though this particular geography class is just an officially accredited version of Mr. Bennish's "I Hate America" Club. Yes, I know I'm being kind of unfair to this girl. She is, after all, only a high school student, but low-hanging fruit is all I have time to pick this morning.
