Stand firm, ye boys of Kansas

Major college football rivalries, apparently, don't begin and end in Southern California. It's a very big game this year, folks, and despite the fact that my pal Templeton Peck and my very own daughter, having been affected by the enthusiasm of her Missourian classmates, will be pulling for Missouri, I can't help feeling that if I have to choose, I've gotta go with the Free State.

Can somebody convince me otherwise?

Having grown up in Missouri and attended the U of Mo for one year, I think I am qualified to take a stab at this one.
If Kansas loses. . just watch your back, Missy! I will hunt you down like a dog.
Hurray Hurrah Mizzou Mizzou!

Et tu, Stewdog?

I liked one of the T-shirts they mentioned in the article:

"Kansas: Keeping America safe from Missouri since 1854"

Ahh...the 2nd oldest college football rivalry in the nation, if I'm not mistaken...and one that usually has no interest to the rest of the country. But this year is oh so different. # 2 Kansas vs # 4 Missouri for a slot in the Big 12 Championship game and then perhaps the National Championship Game in Jan. VERY new territory for these two football programs and a source of great pride to all alumni and residents of the two states. Me?...well I'm rooting for Mizzou but do hold a special place in my heart for the Jayhawks as I was OH so close to accepting a scholorship there back in 74 when I was there performing at the National College Theatre Festival.
But my real thoughts and emotions will be with Webster Groves High School tomorrow as the Statesmen take on Kirkwood in the annual " Turkey Day Game" .......I believe THE oldest high school Thanksgiving game in America! Go Statesmen! Go Tigers!! God Bless all, and a Very Happy Thanksgiving to all here.

God bless you, too, Temp! Happy Thanksgiving. Bring on "Uncle Buck!"

Go Statesmen, and -- what the heck -- good luck Mizzou!

There is much to be thankful for, especially the friendship of those affiliated with this endeavor! Don't eat too much and stay the heck out of any retail establishments the rest of the weekend!
