How you can tell Sarah Palin did well last night

The gods of the talking point have fallen back on that old chestnut: mean-spiritedness. Listen for a lot of talk about mean-spiritedness from Obama surrogates and supporters today. As we all know, Republicans are either dumb (Ford, Reagan, Bush, Quayle) or mean-spirited (Nixon). All the talk about Palin's speech being "mean-spirited" means they've probably given up on "dumb" in the case of Sarah Palin.

Oh, and then there's this news flash from the Obama camp: politicians have speech writers. Do you want four more years of the same speech writers, my friends? Vote for change. Vote for a dynamic new crop of speech writers this November.

Um, yeah, good luck with that.
