Who's that you say? Dean Wormer from Animal House, whose obit appears in today's paper.
He got an early start playing the heavy. He was the voice of Big Brother in the 1956 film version of 1984.
John Landis originally wanted Jack Webb to play the dean. However, when he met with the director, then 27, long haired and beared, Webb was so horrified that he refused to consider the part. (It would have been ok, Jack. . no helicopter scenes involved in that Landis flick).
Vernon's daughters fondly remember their dating years. . "Your DAD is Dean Wormer?"
May he RIP. He certainly outlived his hard living co star, John Belushi!!!!

Sad to see him go. Dean Wormer unwittingly summed up Teddy Kennedy's life best when he said, "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son."
