Friday Times Review

I have braved the LA Times so our readers need not sully themselves. Of interest:

1. Nothing like seeing leftists go after one another. Laura Ingram had the ever charming Susan Estrich on her show last week and the Times Calendar section has a large write up on her crusade against Michael Kinsley, who runs the editorial section of the Times. Ms. Estrich is demanding that a greater proportion of the Times Op Ed pieces be authored by women (read leftist women). Frankly, show me that publishable articles have been turned down by the Times because the authors aren't men and I will get upset. Actually, I think this controversy may open a slot for one of our own. Hey Kate Marie. . ready to step it up? I think you should offer your services to the Times for a weekly Column. How about "Right Thinking" as a working title. I'm serious here.

2. Someone from Princeton has written an article defending the practice of doctors in the Netherlands wacking babies. Tony Soprano would be proud. Do Netherlands and Neanderthal have the same root? Just wondering.

3. There is an article about a road rage incident supposedly triggered by a Bush Cheney sticker, although if you read the article, the Republican MAY have provoked it with a hand gesture (no. . not the bunt sign, Wonderdog), but since we read it in the paper, we will NEVER know the truth.

Well that's it. I will continue to read the Times so that you won't have to do so.
