No thanks, I'm full

Now this one is hilarious. Many Gitmo prisoners are said to be on a hunger strike to protest the treatment they're receiving at the facility.

A few thoughts:

1) So the logic here is to show the world how badly you're being treated by...depriving yourself of food? But...shouldn't that be the job of the guys who are supposedly treating you badly?

2) Call me silly but if someone's treating me inhumanely, the last tactic I'm going to take is to try to make them feel guilty by...treating myself inhumanely...right? Am I missing something here?

3) (Smack myself on forehead) Why didn't the Jews think of this at Auschwitz!

4) It says here that -- "The detainees refusing meals have been given intravenous hydration, Gatorade, water and the nutritional supplement Ensure." Must sound like a veritable feast to the Terri Schiavo's of the world...

5) So you're not going to eat anymore, huh? Promise?

WD, check out the photo of the model of Gitmo.

Y'know, those Gitmo guests were said to be gaining a lot of weight feasting on the fabulous food (better than our troops get). Perhaps they're all just on diets.

Thanks for the picture, CIV.

Yeah, Gitmo must be the only "gulag" in history where the prisoners are so full that they can pass on the mashed potatoes.
