I heard he is French, or at least moved there. Or is that a temporary thing for training?
CIV lost respect for Lance when he divorced and remarried. After enduring all those sappy ads about him surviving cancer and fathering a child, CIV expected him to stay and rear his son.
He was born and raised in Texas but I do believe he owns a home and trains in France.
I lost respect for Lance the person when he divorced as well. Especially since he started messing around with some celebrity type girlfriend (don't remember who). His politics are also to the left, I believe. That said, I have enormous respect for him as an athlete. What he has accomplished in the Tour is phenomenal in the truest sense of the word. With all his faults, I still admire the guy and feel proud to be an American when he punishes the Europeans at their own sacred pastime.
OK, yeah, I like it when he sticks it to the French, too.
