Katrina and the welfare state

Lovable liberal and good friend of Rumpus Tim Dunigan sends along this interesting article on Katrina and the welfare state. Stewdog is fond of saying we'll make a Republican of Tim yet, but I think the chances of making Tim a Republican are about equal to a snowball's in hell -- or the Cards winning the Series.

After that walk off homer by Ortiz to beat your Angels last night, I'd be more worried about your Republican, Hawk, Angels MAKING the playoffs than my Cardinals winning the Series... Perhaps you could get Kanye West to be their new spokesperson? ...help the image ya know?

Inspired by Katrina, Timdog ventures into the muddy waters of Rumpus. Welcome, my fine friend.

You're making strides Timaaaaa! You see, giving people that hand out attitude dulls their brains. They had no instincts, means or outlets to get through this. They need to stop watching TV and listening to these nit-wits that they give their votes to- that do NOTHING for them.
America is the most giving country there is, we don't need the government to handle everything, no?

No Billy...and I know that is who you are ....but I think that the government could have been better prepared and gotten into action a BIT faster on this...don't you? really?...come on!
