Christmas Eve In The Kitchen

I love when this day comes. All the shopping is out of the way and it is just down to preparing the feasts for the next 2 days. Tonight it will be standing rib roast and tomorrow the turkey.
But first. . gotta bake. . The chocolate brownies are done, getting ready to do the lemon bars, and, here is something to make that is a crowd pleaser, needs few ingredients, and is neither cooked nor baked.

Bourbon Balls:

Sift together:
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 cup powdered sugar
Combine and stir in:
1/4 cup bourbon whisky (I used Jack Daniels)
2 tablespoons light corn syrup (Karo)
Add and mix thoroughlly:
2 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
1 cup broken pecans
Roll mixture into small balls. Dredge in:
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Merry Christmas, Stewdog. Wish I could try your desserts.

And a Merry Christmas to all the Rumpus and their families.

If the Bourbons of France had just had more of these, they might have stood up to the Aristocracy, taxed all of the Estates equally, avoided the French Revolution, and contributed to a modern Europe without the various revolutionary disasters that have so severely damaged the West and brought about its decline.

Amazing what more Bourbon Balls could have accomplished!

Sorry, Stewdog, but not knowing Mae Rum, I really can't say.

Why not ask her directly?
