Stew's Reviews
I've gotten to the movies recently. OK, so the movies got to my den, via DVD, but I actually watched a few recently. My take:
1. Crash This movie isn't perfect, but it sucked me in right from the start. The dialogue was brutally honest in terms of dealing with race and it was refreshing to see "Stars" just being really good actors. I found it thought provoking and an interesting tapestry of characters and attitudes.
2. Kingdom of Heaven Although pretty much savaged by many critics, I found a lot to interest me in this film, which took me to 12th century Jerusalem. Flawed, but worth a look.
3. Batman Begins: The second half becomes a comic book, but I found the first half engaging. Two big batwings ups.
