"Cultural equivalence," last refuge of self-loathing leftist scoundrels
Scott Burgess at The Daily Ablution offers a succint and brilliant response to anyone who preaches the specious doctrine of "cultural equivalence":
Is your position really that the culture of present-day AmeriKKKa, based as it is on a noxious combination of rampant consumerism, environmental destruction and fascist cultural imperialism, comprises the moral equivalent of that of the blamelessly pure at-one-with-Gaia Native Americans?
At this point, the champion of cultural equivalence, who has already run himself off a cliff but has been unwittingly treading air in Wylie Coyote fashion, looks down and recognizes his doom . . . On his way down, outside the frame, he screams, "All cultures are equal, but Western culture is less equal than otheerrrrrrrrsssssss!" A dull thud cuts off his fading howl, and a fat puff of dust closes the scene.
