Surveying the News
Stewdog once again reads the Times, so you need not bother.
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Al Lewis. Who is that you ask? Why Grandpa of the Munsters fame who resided at 1313 Mockingbird Lane. Before that he had teamed with Fred Gwynn on Car 52 Where Are You? I found it interesting that the Munster was born Meister.
Meanwhile, Feminism lost one of its heroes in Betty Friedan.
In other news, those rascally Islamists torched two different embassies, proving what Sister Jane Frances always said, "Idle Hands Are The Devil's Workshop".
Finally, I found this op ed piece by David Garrow to be in poor taste. The fact that MLK had other women in his life is one of the poorest kept secrets in America, but to place this article in the paper so soon after Coretta's death is simply poor judgement by the Times. (Note to Islamists: I will not, however, be burning down the Times building today).
Happy Super Bowl Sunday. I will soon be seeing Kate Marie, Wonderdog, Sadeeq, Scotty, Daryl Ann and company. It just struck me. . . when the State of the union address is given, one of the president's cabinet stays away "just in case". Maybe we all shouldn't be at the "Martyparty" at the same time?

I'll be happy to stay away from the Super Bowl on behalf of the Rumpus.
Have fun.
