Let's Re-elect The President

*With apologies and condolences to Neil Young.

Let’s reelect the president for showing leadership
And leading our country into war
Utilizing all the power that we gave him
And showing Islamofascists 'what for'.

He’s the man who has shown integrity
Has not treated an intern like a wh**e
And lied under oath like a weasel
And acted like a crushing bore.

Let’s reelect the president for using
The NSA to keep proper hones.
On those who would seek to harm us
Using laptop computers and phones.

Al Qaeda didn't blow up the levees
Those allegations are just plain silly
Does the left really want another Carter?
And that bore of a hick brother Billy?

Let’s reelect the president
For respecting all people of faith
And showing an inclusive umbrella
Where all can be heard and be safe.

(Neil Young wrote a stanza on steroids
And I read it and think he is joking
Bush is not involved with baseball
Just what is it that Neil has been smoking?)

"Thank God" Neil said to end it
And he must be so happy to know
That George only gets 8 years at it
So bring on that election show.

Mr. Young ain't got nothin' on the Stewdog!!

Stewdog, you're incendiary and moving. You're a genius. (To be frank, your lyrics were far superior to mine and Mr. Young's.) I'm sure Neil worked on his masterpiece lyrics for a good month while you devoted...ten minutes?

Maybe 12, tops, but that included running it through smell check.

So sorry to disappoint you, anon, but garbage in, garbage out. When you start with dreck and parody it, by its nature, you will wind up with dreck.
And don't worry, I won't quit the day job, I think I'm about to be fired.

SD, I hope you aren't fired, but in any case, anon is wrong. Your lyrics are way better than Neil's and you could quit your job for song writing. I think it helps that you aren't blinded by hate and deafened by the rage pulsing in your ears.
