O Che Can You See?

I generally don't encourage vandalism. Like most of my beliefs, I leave room for exceptions.

I have to wonder about cultures that need to learn the hard way why most of the world doesn't build monuments out of sheets of plate glass.

LOL, Jeff!

This reminds me that I have a Che-related article and personal story to share with everyone. (The article was about a conference in Tehran that brought together Chavez-type leftists and radical jihadists. The jihadists got up and started describing Che as a "man of God" and an anti-communist! Che's daughter, who was at the conference, then got up and said their understanding of Che's religious feelings must have been based on a "bad translation." Hilarity ensued.) Jeffery Hodges, knowing my love for Che, sent along the article.

The story involves going to visit Sadeeq's uncle in Lawrence, KS, and having him greet us on the driveway in a Che Guevara T-shirt. My youngest later remarked, "That was kind of crazy. Uncle F. is pretty old to be wearing a Pirates of the Caribbean T-shirt!"

Kate Marie. . perfect lead in for me. We have a great friend in Massachusetts who goes by Monty. Monty, his wife and 2 children came out here a few months ago (made the Rumpus family's 'dry' beach picnic) and then proceeded to set a record for hours logged in amusement parks in So Cal for one week.
Che is not so in vogue in the Bay State, and he was in line for a ride in Disneyland and the guy behind him had a Che shirt on. Monty said to him, "Nice Shirt. Bob Marley?"
