David Harsanyi on "the lying game"
Harsanyi skewers the faux outrage and selective reporting of the media over the McCain campaign's "dishonorable" tactics.
Harsanyi notes the media/Democratic campaign narrative that seems to be trotted out in the waning weeks of every national election:
After all, we've all heard the self-serving myth that pits helpless, meek, high-minded, issue-oriented Democrats against mendacious and mean Republicans, who not only detest America — especially children and small vulnerable creatures — but will lie and cheat to keep all oppressed.
The funny thing is that this reanimated corpse of a narrative never seems to help them win any elections. It does give the Democrat base something to whine about when the election is over, though.
