The Three Mousekateers

Back in the 70's, I enjoyed Doonesbury. Part of the reason is that, quite obviously, my politics changed as I got older, but I perceived then, rightly or wrongly, that he at least skewered both sides with gusto. Not no more!
Gary Trudeau is just a Kerry hack now and his cartoon should be on the editorial pages where it belongs. At least some papers, notably the LA Times, try to balance out the blatantly liberal political strips with a couple of cartoons that skew right.
In the 90's I enjoyed Bill Maher's original show. I liked the lively exchange of the guests who were usally balanced right and left. Now he has totally gone off the left end.
Now it is Jon Stewart. I have enjoyed the Daily Show in the past for its biting political satire and humor and some of the 'reporters' that he has on the show. Over time the show drifted more and more left. Now I see where he has joined Maher in jumping off the cliff at "Moore's Leap", attacking Tucker Carlson as a 'clown' as only a smarmy know it all liberal can do.

Right on, Stewdog! People like Maher and Stewart inevitably jump the shark when they start to think of themselves, first and foremost, as statesmen rather than comedians. When they begin to think they actually have something profound to offer, the shallowness and glibness of their political ideas become most glaring. That glibness didn't matter so much when they were primarily trying to make people laugh.

WD. . you obviously are suffering from post season baseball envy. It's really fun to have a team playing this late more than once in a lifetime. Hope you get to know the feeling someday.
