Yeah, yeah, it's true . . .
I'm reading a vampire novel. Wanna make something of it? Well do ya . . . punk?

So....how is it?
I'm only about seven chapters into it, but it's actually pretty good so far. It's smart, well-written, kind of creepy, and I like the emerging theme of history as a horror story. I've never read a vampire book before (not even Dracula), so this fits the "now for something completely different" mood I was in when I went to Border's yesterday. I'll let you know what I think when I finish it.
So you like it. Imagine, a Vampire book that doesn't "bite". Who knew.
KM, let us know if it was worth the read. It got mixed reviews on amazon. I've read and enjoyed many of the Anne Rice vampire stories. And now I even have a Romanian friend, but one who can walk around in daylight without bursting into flame.
Will do, C.I.V. I'm about halfway through now and quite enjoying it, but as I'm not an expert on vampire stories, I don't know how it compares to others of its genre. For me, it's actually pretty scary, and every time I read something like this, I'm struck by the pleasure that an actual plot affords.
