From Buddy Holly to This?

How low have we slipped? As I was looking over the number of letters and comments this blog received following a Hugh Hewitt shout out, I became aware of this wretched story. In the most expensive Turkish movie made to date, (OK, 10 million would be the promotion on most of our films, but it is a big deal over there) American soldiers crash a wedding party, shoot the groom in the head and proceed to whack scores of innocent people with random machine gun fire. Those unfortunate enough to be left alive are whisked off to Abu Ghraib prison. This is where the "fun begins". A doctor at the prison (why yes, of course, he is a reader of the Torah) proceeds to cut out their organs. And what to do with them? Why sell them to the affluent in Tel Aviv, London, and New York.

Now, you ask, why do I ask how low WE have slipped when this is a Turkish film?
Because American (and I use the term loosely) actors Billy Zane and Gary Busey have allowed themselves to be used in this hateful anti American propaganda piece.

In past war times, I suppose they could be tried criminally, but in these days, they will probably be nominated by the Foreign Press for best actors in a foreign film.

If only Americans, Christians, and Jews all over the world would riot, burn Turkish flags (as well as the flags of all countries showing the film), attack embassies, etc.

But, no. We won't do it. That's why we are called "civilized," not "barbarians."

I am in favor, though, of trying the actors. Plus trying for treason the Wash Post and NYT reporters and editors who publish our nation's secrets during wartime. Throw the book at 'em, I say.

C'mon, SD, you know darn well they're not telling the real story. By your description, it seems they've neglected to depict how the westerners who actually purchased their organs ate them with some fava beans and a nice chianti...tthhp tthhp tthhp tthhp.

Actually, maybe Gary Busey *himself* ate those organs. Don't reanimated corpses usually feast on human body parts?
