I have my reasons

This weekend I had a discussion with a family member who is understandably upset with the Republican party's apparent indifference to, or abandonment of, important conservative principles. This family member was considering abstaining from voting in November. What good reason, she asked, was there to support this particular Republican-controlled House and Senate? I suggested that there are two very good reasons -- reasons that anyone who considers himself committed to conservative principles would do well to remember. Without further ado, I present Reason 1 and Reason 2.

Don't stop at 2. There is John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Al Gore. . . . Remember, Republicans don't keep winning elections because their candidates are spectacular, they keep winning because the Democrats offer no better alternative. You tell Darryl Ann, Queen of the East, Scotty, or Darryl Ann's evil twin that if they persist in this, I will personally come over on election day to drag them to the polls.
