Israel has been at war with Iraq and Syria for years, through the proxies of those Barbary Pirates, namely Hezbollah and Hamas. Israel has finally said enough, just as the US would if state sponsored terrorist groups in Mexico and Canada lobbed missles at us and kidnapped our soldiers for ransom. All I can say is. . . if not you, who? If not now, when? Godspeed.

Origens of this situation are pre-Bush and date back to the British Balfour declaration of 1917 designed to set up a Jewish state in Palestine imagining it could be done without upsetting the residents of that Country!

Bairude, nice to see W not being blamed for something. I would point out that all nations' borders are formed by war. Israel has made many attempts to coexist with its neighbors, but when some of the neighbors won't stop at anything other than the death of Israel, well, you can understand how the army with the Star of David can get a little cranky.
As for anon, I can't decide if this is comment spam that snuck in, Queen of the East playing a joke on me, or if you are for real. Fearing the worst, I will assume you meant it.
There are three great evils that Civilization has faced in the last 100 years, communism, facism, and Isamofascim. You seem to embrace communism, even though it has proven to be an inhuman and failed system.
I find it interesting that you start your comment with "As usual, Chavez is correct". That assumes he has ever been correct, which the data don't support.
And I note your use of propagana terms "massacres" and "butcherd". Israel is doing anything but that. You might want to google up "Stalin" if you love those words.
Israel is at war with Hezbollah and Hamas and as such, with Syria and Iran. Civilian deaths are inevitible when your enemy hides in neighborhoods, using all the civilians as human shields. Death to the scoundrals, I say.
