Happy Birthday, America. Happy Independence Day, Rumpus.

If it doesn't rain, we're going to eat some barbeque (pulled pork -- yum) at the pool and go watch fireworks nearby. But severe storms are threatening.

Pulled Pork. . YUMMMMMMMYYYYYY!
Having a warm and quiet 4th at home. The oldest stewpup is still asleep at 1PM. God, those were the days. I got in a 3 hour bicycle ride and a swim, and now will read and nap and they watch the Cardinals lose and grill some Halibut Steaks.
Happy 4th to all. Just like Christmas, it is important to remember the true meaning. What a great experiment in government we all live.

Stewdog and CIV, hope you're both having a wonderful 4th! The pulled pork, the fireworks, the halibut steak, the bicycle ride *and* the swim all sound yummy ...

No pool or bbq due to thunderstorms. The fireworks look iffy, too.

Just caught a glimpse of some people trying to hold down a tent in the rain and wind. Wow. Nice weather there in DC.

We could have gone to the nearby fireworks -- no late thunderstorms appeared -- but we oldsters did not want to sit on wet grass. The rugrat had a fit and is giving us the full teenager grumpiness after learning that everybody was at the HS except us. The fresh, hot apple crisp, watching some of the DC show on PBS, and catching much of the HS fireworks from the upstairs window did not appease the rugrat.

SD, just how long do these snits last?
