Mississippi groundhog

Just had a very late night happenstance viewing of Mississippi Burning. Sad to say that I was somewhat disappointed. I've never seen it before and found it a bit conventional, formulaic, preachy and trite. I had always thought that it must be good, given the actors and subject matter.

...I also had a very hard time dealing with Ned Ryerson as the evil grand wizard.
