Morning Musings

Last week, I broke down the LA Times Sunday editorial page. After perusing it today, I simply don't have the energy.

As I was channel surfing last week at 7PM, I came across one of those insipid entertainment shows. I had to stay on to "SEE WHAT ROSIE THINKS ABOUT THE DEBATES". I wasn't surprised by the content, but what stood out was the reference to Rosie's main squeeze as "HER WIFE". They participated in one of those bogus San Francisco marriages that was thrown out by the courts. So, she isn't her wife. I suspect that they are either sucking up to her or simply following the cultural norms in what passes today for entertainment.

I went to a lovely concert last night in Coldwater Canyon. Tree People have an outdoor auditorium that is a great venue for concerts, plays, and readings. There was a small old time orchestra and a singer and they did a great job on old standards. BUT, they had a comedian 'warm up' the audience. One of his jokes was "They did a poll of foreign countries as to whom they would vote for for president (Yeah, I care and why are you making political jokes. . oh. . that's right. . mostly Kerry supporters at this function at an enviromentalist site), and Bush overwhelmingly lost in every country except. . get this . . POLAND!" I wanted to scream at the guy "Hey, the French have forgotten that we gave them freedom, but the Poles still remember when they were in bondage and who got them out."
But I didn't.

Dan Rather describes himself as a "Patriot Journalist". Yeah, and I'm freaking Tallulah Bankhead.

Hats off to the two So Cal baseball teams for a Saturday to Remember.

I'm Stewdog and I approved these messages.
