Morning Report
Very busy this morning and have been rather busy the last couple days. I only have time to link some good and interesting stuff.
Read this Peggy Noonan piece about how everyone just needs to take a chill pill right now.
This post from Matt Heidt, the former Navy Seal, regarding the Marine shooting incident in Fallujah is a must read. Something tells me that Matt Heidt has a more knowledgeable perspective on this than Matt Lauer.
These letters from Marines on the same subject are also must reads at Powerline and Instapundit. (HT: Hugh Hewitt).
This story has me thinking that Iran had better think long and hard about some serious consequences if it continues down this road. Have they learned nothing from Iraq and Afghanistan? C'mon guys, even Libya had the sense to know that the jig was up. Note to "President" Khatami -- watch your ass.
And finally, there's Bubba. Bubba has become almost likeable that last couple years, staying out of the limelight and just being well...Bubba. But this has me thinking that he's back to being Billy Clinton again:
"No other president ever had to endure someone like Ken Starr indicting innocent people, because they wouldn't lie, in a systematic way, and having respectable news outlets treat them like they were serious, and parroting everything they leaked," Clinton said.
"No one ever had to try to save people from ethnic cleansing in the Balkans, and people in Haiti from a military dictator that was murdering them, and all the other problems I dealt with, while every day, an entire apparatus was devoted to destroying him," he added.
Yeah, okay Billy boy, you keep saying that. No one ever had to endure someone like Ken Starr? In light of our recent historic events, that statement is pathetically laughable! Ken Starr? Yeah, you're right, Billy boy, this president has only had to deal with a little thing called 9/11 and the profound struggle of this generation's lifetime. Maybe if you'd spent a little time on it instead of chasing interns and playing the saxophone, we might have been able to avoid a lot of this mess.
Is there anything more pathetic than a guy blowing his own feeble horn like this?
The Balkans? Haiti? Poor guy.
