Veteran's Day
Today we honor the veterans of the Armed Services of the United States, both living and dead, who sacrificed for all of us. Let's keep our young men and women in our prayers today, especially those who are in harms way as I type.
I proudly fly my American flag today for all, but especially:
1. My brother Joe Jr, who served on the U.S.S. Okinawa in the Navy during the Vietnam War;
2. My father Joe, Sr, who served on the U.S.S. Currituck during WWII;
3. My uncle Edward, a navy pilot who died off the coast of Africa during an unsuccessful carrier landing during WWII. He gave his life to help rid the earth of the scourge of the Nazis.

Thank you Joe Jr, Joe Sr, and Edward.
Thanks, too, to Vic, who served in Korea and made it possible for me to have South Korean friends. And to Bob, who served in Vietnam. And Alice & Bob, who were a career Navy couple and are great neighbors and friends. And to Kyle who joined the Marines reserves because of September 11 and served in Iraq and, thank God, came back in one piece.
God bless them all.
I'm late to this post, but I add my deep gratitude to all the brave men you mentioned. Where do we get such men?
