Kofi and cockroaches
With the Oil-for-food scandal widening, I see Kofi Annan is starting to say nice things about the U.S.. Fancy that.
What's a bit perplexing is why the U.S. is saying nice things about Kofi. I suppose the play here is that we have him over a barrel and can now take advantage of his vulnerable state to use him for our purposes. But I don't like that game. Why are we wasting our time to even manipulate this guy?
The way I see it, the Oil-for-food scandal has the potential to bring down the entire U.N. body and expose them for the corrupt, inert, selfish gluttons that they are. It gives us the opportunity to break it up and be rid of it forever. Our two options, therefore, would seem to be to use this to our advantage by manipulating them to do our will or to simply squish them like the cockroaches that they are. It seems we've chosen the former option. Too bad.
Would you want a cockroach to do your bidding? Squish.
