Lyric of the Month

It Never Rains in Southern California

Got on board a westbound seven forty seven
Didn't think before deciding what to do
Ooh, that talk of opportunities, TV breaks and movies
Rang true, sure rang true

Seems it never rains in southern California
Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California,
but girl don't they warn ya
It pours, man it pours

(Albert Hammond)

Hey, if it ever stops raining, maybe y'all would like to Walk for Life on January 22, 2005. Meanwhile, think dry thoughts!

The Panasonic KX-TG5200 5.8 GHz cordless phone (Gigarange Supreme) is the first phone we found that wasn't noisy. The others had either constant or intermittent irritating white noise. No answering machine on it, though. We've got an old ATT machine. For important phone lines (such as business), it's better to get the phone company to set up a simple voice mail system. That way you don't have to worry about all the FREQUENT POWER OUTAGES (THAT MEANS YOU, DOMINION VIRGINIA POWER) causing your line to go unanswered.

Happy MLK Day, Rumpus!

Enjoy your day. Hope it stopped raining.

It is a big 23 degrees F here (9 degrees wind chill) and sunny with a dusting of snow on low parts of the lawn. I will celebrate the BIG DAY by doing all the usual, but having to dodge all the traffic from govvies who have the day off.

Hey, don't you think there's a message in the weather here? It has been icy cold and today it is snowing. More snow and icy weather is predicted for the weekend. What is the only day that is forecast to have temps above freezing and no snow? Inauguration day!
