The TIMES Of My Life

In addition to blessing us with a lengthy article by Ramsey "Che" Clark on "Why I'm Willing To Defend Hussein", the LA Times published this letter from a UCLA law perfesser!
"At his second-term inauguration, Bush declared it our country's policy to spread democracy and freedom all over the world. Wasn't it just a few years ago that the Soviet Union's policy was to spread its political system, communism, all over the world? And in this country, didn't we think that was a bad thing?"
I need a jack to get my jaw off the floor on that one. Equating trying to spread democracy with trying to spread communism. . . I am left speechless.

Hey, the prof sounds just like al-Zarqawi!

... a speaker claiming to be Abu Musab al-Zarqawi declared "fierce war" on democracy and said anyone who takes part in next weekend's Iraqi elections would be considered "an infidel."

"We have declared a fierce war on this evil principle of democracy and those who follow this wrong ideology," the speaker said. "Anyone who tries to help set up this system is part of it."
