Propriety

The Byrds had a great song in the 60's Turn, Turn, Turn. It was based on the Book of Ecclesiastices. It told us that for everything there was a place and a time. Well, Jimmy Carter and the Good Reverend at the King funeral seem to have missed both the song and the bible passage. The assult on President Bush, an invited guest in a church, is reprehensible and inexcusable. But according to the Times' Rosa Brooks, their actions were wholly justified and appropriate. Read this pathetic attempt to justify it at your own risk.
