Love your enemy (but hate your real enemy)
"We believe that the illegal occupation of Iraq by Multinational Forces is the root cause of the insecurity which led to this kidnapping and so much pain and suffering in Iraq. The occupation must end."
This is a quote from the peace group to which the recently rescued hostages in Iraq belong. Mind you, these hostages were rescued by these American and British "illegal occupation" forces.
The group went on to further state:
“We pray that Christians throughout the world will, in the same spirit, call for justice and for respect for the human rights of the thousands of Iraqis who are being detained illegally by the U.S. and British forces occupying Iraq.
"With God’s abiding kindness, we will love even our enemies. With the love of Christ, we will resist all evil. With God’s unending faithfulness, we will work to build the beloved community."
It's so nice to see that these people have the compassion to love the terrorists who kidnapped, tortured, and killed (at least one) their friends, yet have not the decency to even thank those who risked their lives to save them.
Who's their real enemy?
I think the real message learned here is that these people will love their enemies unless of course that enemy is the United States.

Don't you love how they keep saying the 3 were released, not rescued?
Rumpus, I just learned that we all missed the concert of the year, as described on blog Alarming News. SD, your fave Saint (now a rock star!) was there.
Wow! I learned in today's Washington Post how sophisticated and nuanced French people express their dissatisfaction with newly enacted laws:
burning cars seven blocks from the Eiffel Tower, shop windows smashed along one of the capital's toniest streets, and columns of helmeted riot police advancing across the greensward of a prominent tourist venue.
