Kevin Smith apparently makes movies . . .
. . . from the same place that he talks out of.
The irony of his expletive-laced diatribe against Joel Siegel's "impolite" behavior appears to be lost on him. Maybe that's why I've never been able to sit through any of his movies.

Despite my home-state pride and my obvious cultural sympathies, even I have to admit that Kevin Smith makes some pretty crummy movies.
I was actually worried that I might offend your home-state pride by posting this, but I figure the state that gave us The Chairman of the Board, the Boss, and the St. Francis of the Blogosphere has nothing to apologize for. :)
Nah--I do like Smith when he plays the laconic outsider who tells funny stories about the absurdities of the movie business. I want to like him more, but having to sit through "Jersey Girl" on a plane two years ago made me doubt that the guy is capable of making movies for grown-ups.
I found his original low budget "CLERKS" to be hysterical guys....I realize it's not every movie goers cup of tea, but I found myself laughing through most of the film!
