"Corrupted procedures beget corrupted results"

Thus the indefatigable and unsinkable KC Johnson sums up the Duke/Nifong case. Johnson has an entire blog, Durham-in-Wonderland, devoted to the intricacies of the case, and he probably knows more about it than any reporter, or indeed any lawyer, in the country.

Johnson's blogging/reporting is another remarkable instance of the powerful potential of blogging, and despite my earlier protestations, I must confess that Johnson has convinced me that there's an ugly miscarriage of justice going on in Durham.

KM, I am with you. I ignored this case for a long while, but the new and very detailed reports seem to indicate more than just a rush to judgement.

And everyone behaved badly. The young men drinking and hiring strippers, the young women drinking and stripping, the school faculty and administration presuming guilt, and the prosecutor in too many ways to enumerate. What a sorry bunch. And what a tragedy, whatever happened.

I agreee about the bad behavior on all sides, CIV. The prosecutor's bad behavior, though, seems most pernicious to me.
