I hope that the series will turn out interesting. Berman is an interesting thinker and brings a critical, thoughtful leftist's perspective to the debate over Tariq Ramadan and Islamism.

The left itself should listen to him ... except that the left has entirely lost its way.

I'm sure it will turn out to be interesting, Jeffery -- not only because Berman brings a thoughtful leftist's perspective to the debate over Ramadan but also because you bring your own thoughtful perspective to the discussion.

I've read Berman's stuff before, and I quite like him. I remember quoting and linking to his criticism of The Motorcycle Diaries and other cultural manifestations of Che chic. Any leftist who doesn't genuflect at the altar of Che Guevara is a leftist I can relate to.
