Hit the Road Cat

So the U.S. has prevented Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam) from entering the country, huh? It seems Cat/ Yusuf/ Stevens/ Islam's plane was prevented from landing in D.C. due to his name turning up on a security watchlist. My reaction? Who gives a rat's ass? Do I think ol' Moonshadow Islam meant the U.S. any harm? Nope. Do I care that he was sent packing? Nope. Move on.

As an aside, I googled this story a bit further and found something that's not generally being reported here:

Homeland Security spokesman Brian Doyle said, "Why is he on the watch lists? Because of his activities that could be potentially linked to terrorism. The intelligence community has come into possession of additional information that further raises our concern (about Islam)".

And this also:

A second government official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said U.S. authorities think donations from Islam may have ended up helping to fund blind sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, who was convicted for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and Hamas, a Palestinian militant group considered a terrorist organization by the United States and Israel. In July 2000, Islam was deported hours after arriving in Jerusalem. A local paper reported then that the government claimed he had delivered tens of thousands of dollars to Hamas during a visit in 1988. Islam denied ever knowingly supporting Islamic terrorists.

You know what? Hit the road Cat! Maybe you've funded and supported Hamas and other terrorists (interesting choice of the word "knowingly", huh?) and maybe you haven't but hit the road until we can figure it all out, okay? Sheesh. Get outta heeuh!
