Notable Passing

Reed Irvine has died at the age of 82, reports the LA Times. He founded Accuracy in Media 35 years ago, which is described as an
"organization devoted to exposing perceived liberal bias in American journalism". (Note how the Times has to throw in the qualifier 'perceived', which shows liberal bias, thereby eliminating the need to use the word 'perceived'). He is described as the 'pioneer of the liberal bias argument', according to Michael Hoyt, executive editor of the Columbia Journalism Review.
It sounds like he was one hell of a pain in the butt gadfly, but his early work seems to be responsible for many of us not accepting what the media puts out as balanced, fair and accurate.
