Thoughts for Thursday

Two Thousand brought us an evolution in presidential election politics. It got the networks to stop calling elections until the polls had closed in the subject state. It educated us about the need to check ballots. It also spawned the stupid argument with which we were bombarded for 4 years that Bush didn't get the popular vote (which is like crying that although you lost the World Series 4-3, you scored more runs).
Hopefully, this evolution will continue and lessons will be learned from the 2004 election. More people will completely ignore exit polls, which can be easily used to manipulate opinion. More people will realized that Newsweek, The LA Times, CBS, ABC, NBC and the like are not providing you with fair reporting, but trying to influence you every step of the way. Michael Moore and John Stewart and their ilk will be seen for the shills that they are.
Not too much to ask, is it?
A Bush win, a Dashle defeat and an Arafat funeral. What a trifecta that would be.
