U.S. Map of counties that that voted for Bush/ Kerry (Red = Bush)

...What's all this talk about a bitterly divided nation? It seems clear that America is a sea of red with intermittent bird droppings of congregated blue bastions. Michael Moore himself accounts for one of those blue blots down there in Southern California.

Alas, I live in one of those intermittent bird droppings of congregated blue bastions within the sea of red that is Viriginia. [sigh] At least our congressman is still Republican.

George Bush, age 58, was a reproach. He personifies everything they have fought since they drove LBJ and Richard Nixon out of politics. And this week they are trying to discover why most of the people who live between the Hudson River and Hollywood Freeway don't agree with them. Expect documentaries soon about Christian evangelicals on the Discovery Channel.

There is no hope that the Vietnam generation braintrust who just lost this election will ever understand Red America. Until someone in the party recognizes this, the tides of demography will inexorably erode the blue islands that remain on the map.

Hey VA, at least your state went for Bush. The only way California will ever turn red is if we finally cross-over to communism.
