The Conservatives' Dilemma

A recent ruling out of the Land of Lincoln is food for thought. Conservatives generally are pro-life and support tort reform. In Illinois, it seems that they have a law that recognizes that life begins at conception. They also have a couple who had the misfortune of a lab destroying their frozen embryos. A judge recently green lighted a wrongful death lawsuit against the lab.
So the forces of pro-life have won a victory, but at the cost of greatly expanding the scope of wrongful death litigation.
