Word of the Day -- Aprosexia

Thanks to all who took the challenge.

Aprosexia is an abnormal inability to pay attention.

I want to thank Conservative in Virginia for our Sentence of the Day!

  • "Toddlers and teens seem to suffer from severe aprosexia."

I quite agree and will add that mothers (and fathers, of course) of toddlers and teens may also experience bouts of aprosexia.

I think what you are calling aprosexia in parents is more properly called severe sleep deprivation. After weeks or months with very little sleep, parents appear to be dazed and confused, possibly suffering from dementia. To a teen, parents are all fast becoming senile.
