Morning Report

The anti-Syrian, pro-freedom demonstrations have resumed big-time in Lebanon with Reuters reporting that hundreds of thousands have taken to the streets in Beirut in response to last week's phony, coerced pro-Syrian rally. The happy, hopeful faces of men, women and children this morning is quite a contrast to the angry, hateful demeanor of the all male Hezbollah pro-Syrian rally last week.

K-Lo at The Corner has a breakdown of these developments.

Switching gears, if you're looking for a reason to be irritated, read Washington Post Editor Philip Bennett's interview with a Chinese reporter.

Here's a taste (prepare for gag reaction):

Yong Tang: So the world order should be democratic?

Bennett: Democracy means many things. How do you define democracy? As a Chinese journalist, you may have your own definition of democracy which corresponds to your history and your way of seeing the world. I may have another definition. Someone else may have their own definitions. Democracy means a lot of different things.

I see. One man's democracy is another man's Tienanmen square I suppose.

Ah, I just love the smell of liberal media elites schmoozing with communists in the morning...

I'm still recovering from watching Margaret Carlson and Eleanor Clift on the weekend political shows.
