What's in a Name
The North Dakota Fighting Sioux are in the College Hockey Championships, the Frozen Four, which is a fantastic event. They have the best uniforms in College Hockey. In Googling up a picture of one, I came across this lovely essay by a Ward Churchill lover, demanding that White People shut up and do what the Indians tell them and remove the name from the athletic teams. Now, I had never heard of "Counter Punch", but knowing that Alexander Cockburn edits it says all I need to know.

So tired of the white european conquerors jazz. The history of the North American indian is rife with butchery, torture and conquering of each other's people, lands and resources long before the "white man" ever showed up.
