And a Rebuttal from the Left
Some peace yahoos (Veterans for Peace) in Santa Monica have placed crosses in the sand at the beach (and a few Stars of David). They will be reading the names of the deceased military personnel who perished in Iraq. A salute to the fallen on Memorial Day? Heck no, a protest in the style that we have come to know and not love from the left.
Hey. . that's public property. Aren't you violating some sacred separation of church and state by putting religious symbols on public land? Where is the ACLU when you need them?
There are already plenty of crosses about 4 miles east. . in the US Military Cemetery in West Los Angeles. How about you guys just go over there and say a few prayers and say thank you to the people who allow your misguided dog and pony show?

Along the same lines, there's an entry at the Huffington Post today suggesting that we use Memorial Day to remember not only our fallen military personnel, but also conscientious objectors. Talk about missing the point.
