IMBY

We all know of NIMBY's (NOT IN MY BACK YARD). Those people who band together to keep out things like mass transit and K Marts. Well, now that the base closing recommendations have come out, all the Congressmen and Senators suddenly become IMBY's, vowing to fight to keep their bases open. God Bless the Disunited States.
(California didn't fare too badly, but I wouldn't want to be one of the people who has to change jobs from Ventura to China Lake).

Oddly enough, we have angry IMBYs and angry NIMBYs. If you work at a place that is moving, you are happy or mad depending upon what it does to your commute. If you are near a closing installation, you're a happy homeowner and/or a sad business owner. The reverse is true is you are near an expanding location. Traffic is number one and business a distant second.

CIV doesn't expect to be affected in any way, but who knows what ripple effects there will be on local traffic.
