That's as in Bill Ma*#r. Since I have HBO, and since I saw that PJ O'Rourke and Tony Snow were making appearances on Bill's show last night, I thought I would give it a twirl. My first observation was that we need to keep the writers on strike. The hatred to the right was a bit less that usual last night and he was even taking pot shots against Madame Who Would Be President. My second was who needs writers when you have PJ O'Rourke on the other end of the feed. He was funny, and non Bush hating, both of which are a rarity on that show. Finally, and perhaps most important, was that the show gave a nice opportunity for Tony Snow to let his hair down and show his stuff. Hell, I wish HE was running for president. He made the fools around him look like. . we'll . . . FOOLS. Catherine Cryer came across as a typical MSM left wing hack. Mark Cuban came across as a bore. . and the other guy on it, Matt Taibbi, was pretty weak. They all ganged up on Snow when discussing Iraq and the Republicans, but Tony really held his own very well. He answered platitudes with facts. They should have given him 50% of the mike time, since it was 4 on 1. Worth checking out on HBO this week in reruns.

I thought Tiabbi was pretty good. Funny at least. His indictment of the press covering the campaigns was dead on. Their job is to cover a bunch of meaningless nothing, and any minute bit of anything gets done to death before it even starts.

Love the name of this blog, btw.

What is up with the Rumpus? There's so much to comment upon, and not a word from the entire group. After all the work Scotty did to give you a cool, up-to-date blog, you dogs & others ought to be blogging up a storm.

Off the top of my head, I can think of many topics the Rumpus might tackle:

Rudy wimps out
McCain pretends to be conservative
Hillary's voice -- Can you stand 8 years of screeching?
Celebrity breakdowns
The latest in Bratz fashions
Superbowl
The weather (always better than here)
VP possibilities
Life in Kansas
Updates on Peanut, Cashew, Wonderpup, and Stewpups
Writer's strike
Did Bernanke blink? Or were the rate cuts justified?
Should Barack change his name to Barak H. O'Bama to get the Jewish and Irish votes in NY?
Bubba, Babs, Oprah, etc.
