Movie Review -- I Am David

A good friend of the contributors here at Rumpus has written and directed a film that challenges Hollywood's degenerative conventions. It has been well-reviewed here by the National Review.

The irony here is that our friend is one who does not necessarily adhere to the prevailing political ideology here at Rumpus. Therefore, the honesty of his depiction of these themes and this subject matter deserves praise. He is to be commended.

I have to express a certain amount of glee here that our friend has unwittingly become a darling of the conservative values crowd -- of which he is not a member. Some ribbing is in order.
