P.J. O'Rourke
P.J. is my literary hero. We have many things in common. We both admit to having some "hippiedom" in our past. We both may have voted for a Democrat or two (who can remember anything before 1988?) before we saw the light and moved from Blue to Red. We both read. We both write. We are both smart asses who have seen a barstool or two.
I am in the process of re reading my collection of his work, even forcing a couple of his books on Kate Marie to take a spin.
I share this quote on modern celebrity from Give War A Chance:
"You can't shame or humiliate modern celebrities. What used to be called shame and humiliation is now called publicity. And forget traditional character assassination. If you say a modern celebrity is an adulterer, a pervert, and a drug addict, all it means is that you've read his autobiography."
